LIVE authentic period music for waltzes, polkas, mixers, and more …
by San Diego’s own Grand Pacific Waltz Orchestra, with Mr. Joe Dyke conducting
Our dance mistress will be Ms. Joan Walton, an internationally renowned authority on historic vintage dances. She will also teach an all-levels “Survival Waltz” workshop prior to the ball (11-1 pm in the same venue), including the specialty and called dances of the evening. Cost of the workshop is $15 at the door only. Highly recommended for a more enjoyable ball experience, and the best way to meet potential dance partners.

NOTE: This ball is a formal event, with ladies in long gowns and men in suits, tailcoats, or tuxedos. No jeans, tennis shoes, ball caps, shorts, or minidresses, please. Spike heels and floor-marking soles are also not allowed on our beautiful dance floor.
Buy tickets ($30 advance, $40 at the door) online at:
https://buytickets.at/sandiegovintagedancesocietyinc/1497673
or at any of our Friday sessions at the Casa del Prado.

The Bon Temps Social Club (Cajun / Zydeco) group of the International Dance Association will host a special dance on Saturday Feb 8, 2025 in the War Memorial Building from 6:15-9:3pm.
We will explore Dancing Musicality which refers to a dancer's ability to hear, interpret, and express music through their movements. It's about understanding the rhythm, melody, and nuances of the music and translating those elements into dance. Dancers with strong musicality move in a way that feels synchronized and connected to the music, making their dancing more engaging and expressive. 🎵🩰
